Candidate Forum

The Curry County League of Women Voters will host a candidate forum for county commissioner, state representative and city council candidates on Wednesday, October 8, 7:00pm, in the Port Orford city hall council chambers. The Brookings candidate forum is on Monday, October 6 at the Chetco Public Library followed the Gold Beach forum on Tuesday, October 7 at city hall.

The League has invited candidates for commissioner David Itzen and Tom Huxley and State Representative candidates Wayne Krieger  and Jim Klahr. All six Port Orford city council candidates have accepted invitations to attend the local forum. They are Caroline Clancy, Milton Finch Sr., Maryann Holcomb, Carolyn La Roche, Tim Pogwizd and Brett Webb running for three positions on the council.

The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences the public through education and advocacy. They welcome men and women of any political persuasion who want to take an active part in the issues that affect us all.
