Dear diary, dear diary
Im writing these lines
The first of September Nineteen Thirty-Nine
Had lunch with Eva
Went to the zoo
And oh, by the way, started World War Two
A good day, la la la
And so to bed
Dear diary, dear diary
Another day gone
Went bowling with Goering and watered the lawn
Went to the opera, went to a dance
Bombed London, bombed Coventry
Rolled across France
A good day, la la la
And so to bed
Dear diary, dear diary,
To Moscow we go
The children all tell me that we shall have snow
The hills will be covered, the children will play
Were sure to take Stalingrad most any day
A good day, la la la
And so to bed
Dear diary, dear diary
The hour is late
The Russians are bombing the Chancellery Gate
The rate things are going theyre sure to break in
Hello Buenos Aires, Wiedersehen Berlin
A good day, ta ta ta
And so to bed
Guten Nacht!

Thanks to Andrew Clark for providing a transcript of
the lyrics! Andrew also wrote:
As Im sure you know they are a skit on the
infamous Hitler Diaries hoax - in the intro on the
album he claims that the song is merely a translation of a recording
found on a very old and recently discovered tape cassette!
I asked Tom, at a concert over here, whether he thought that
the album would ever be released on CD and he said it could
happen, but I very much doubt it.
